Use T-Window for Executables to translate the text contained in executable (*.exe) files, dynamic link library (*.dll) files and ActiveX control (*.ocx) files.
Open T-Window for Executables and create a new project.
Choose the source file to be translated.
Enter the file name and path for the target file. T-Window for Executables supplies a default file name and path, storing the target file in the same directory as the source file.
The project opens. The program window contains a hierarchy tree of the translatable text portions on the left hand side. On the right-hand side a table view of the strings is shown. Source, Target, ID and Shortcut and Localised Shortcut columns are listed. Source and target segment fields are shown below the table.
Enter your translation in the target segment using Translator's Workbench as usual. You can preview the appearance of the target file as you work.
Save and close the project. You can find the target file where it was stored.
Note: If you start T-Window for Executables on a Windows 9x or Me system, an error message will appear telling you to work on a Windows NT, 2000 or XP machine instead. This is because rebuilding the target language application file is only supported on Windows NT, 2000 and XP as the respective routine is not included on Windows 9x/ME operating systems.
