Use T-Window for Resources to translate the translatable text contained in resource (*.rc), dialog description (*.dlg) and Java (*.properties) files.
Open T-Window for Resources and create a new project.
Choose the source file to be translated.
Enter the file name and path for the target file. T-Window for Resources supplies a default file name and path, storing the target file in the same directory as the source file.
In the Include box do the following:
Check the Comments check box if you wish comments to be treated as translatable text. If you do not check Comments, comments are treated as untranslatable text.
Check the Combo and list box items check box if you wish the text in these to be treated as translatable text. This is selected by default. If you deselect this, these resources are treated as untranslatable text.
The project opens. The T-Window for Resources window includes five text fields.
source window 1 - text before the current segment
source window 2 - current segment
source window 3 - translatable text in the current segment
target window - translation
source window 4 - text after the current segment
Enter your translation in the target window using Translator's Workbench as usual. You can preview the appearance of the target file as you work.
Save and close the project. You can find the target file where it was stored.
Note:
When previewing source or target dialog or menu items in T-Window for Resources you may come across items that are empty. These items are shown as a vertical line in the middle of the Preview dialog box and the Close button that you usually find at the top right corner of a previewed item is not available. Please press [Alt] + [F4] to close these items and return to the Preview dialog box.
While T-Window for Resources supports resource files created in Microsoft Visual Studio, you can also create and translate projects with resource files that have a different origin. However, problems may occur during translation, since resource files that have not been created in Microsoft Visual Studio are not officially supported by T-Window.
