Image Coordinates

It is often important to know the exact size and coordinates of an Image, e.g. for some image functions such as cut out or clear. Image coordinates always start in the upper left corner with 0,0.

An example, where the coordinate values are clarified:
Example: Coordinate System in XnView

How To Display Coordinates in the Status Bar:

  1. Open an image.
  2. Push the left mouse button and then with the button pressed down, move the mouse pointer. This will select an area of the image.
  3. During this selecting of an area, the X/Y coordinates and the size of the selected area are displayed in the Status Bar in the Form "X Y (Width x Height)".

Alternatively, the coordinates are also displayed when the Colour information mode is activated. Please use the menu option ViewDisplay colour Information.
