The DjVu Browser Plug-in supports the following annotations that may be added by the document creator. With the exception of the concealed text box and hyperlinks, these will be plainly visible without any action by the viewer.
Creators of a DjVu document may include a text box for adding their comments, instructions or questions regarding a the document. A text box can be placed anywhere on a page. It is often used in conjunction with an arrow.
A concealed text box is one that is hidden so that the effect of its presence upon the look of the document is minimized. Concealed text boxes are marked with the Concealed Text Box icon . To open the text box, click the icon. The text box opens to the right and downward, and the arrow changes direction . To hide the text box, click the icon again.
Single-direction arrows are drawn anywhere on a page to associate a note to a specific word, image or other point or item in the document, or to clarify what a text box refers to.
The addition of a colored “highlight” to any region of a document makes that portion of the page more visible upon perusal by the viewer.
Hyperlinks are added to link the DjVu document to other files, directories, or URL addresses. Unless the creator of the document has highlighted the link or drawn an arrow to it, it will only be visible when you move your cursor over it. Click a hyperlink to follow it.
