VMware Player allows your virtual machine to access some of the devices attached to your host computer, such as the floppy disk drive, CD or DVD drive and the Ethernet adapter. Depending on what preferences you set (see Device Connection Interface Preferences), these devices may appear in the toolbar or the devices may be listed under a Devices menu.

To connect or disconnect a device shown on the toolbar, click the button for that device. If a device is connected, the button is depressed (in the "down" position). If a device is not currently connected, its corresponding button is not depressed.

To connect or disconnect a device from the Devices menu, select the device you want to connect or disconnect from the cascading menu. If a device is currently connected, a check-mark appears next to its name in the Devices menu.
