Changing the Properties of Shared Folders

To change the settings for a specific shared folder:

1. Open a virtual machine and click its tab to make it the active virtual machine.
2. Choose VM > Settings > Options and click Shared folders.
3. In the Shared Folders field, highlight the shared folder you want to modify.
4. Click Properties.

   The Properties dialog box appears.

   • Use the text boxes to change the name of the shared folder and folder on the host system that is being shared with the virtual machine.
   • When Enabled is checked, the contents of the shared folder are available to the current virtual machine. When this box is not checked, the shared folder is disabled and its contents are not available to the current virtual machine.
   • When Read-only is checked, the current virtual machine can view and copy files from the shared folder but cannot add, change and remove files on the shared folder.

     Note: Access to the shared folder is also governed by permission settings on the host computer.

   • When Disable after this session is checked, the shared folder is disabled the next time this virtual machine is powered off or suspended.
5. When you are finished making changes, click OK.
