.AEF Dictionary Importing

Importing from .AEF dictionary file:

To import a dictionary from an .AEF file, click menu Import > .AEF.

1. Browse for the file for importing by clicking folder button in the Select file for importing window.

2. Locate .AEF file to be imported, select it, and click Open button. Then click Next button to proceed.

3. Select which dictionary to import to (new or one of the existing dictionaries) in the Import Options window:

You can import your dictionary into the existing one by clicking Import into existing dictionary. In the drop-down list select the dictionary where new one will be imported to.

noteNote: When importing, source, targets and notes are being synchronized.

 

You can also import your .AEF file as a new dictionary by clicking Import into new dictionary. Specify new dictionary name in the field next to Import into new dictionary switch.

4. Click Next button to proceed with the import procedure.

 

5. After the importing has been completed, a short summary will be presented in Results of import operation window with the following information:

 

New entries – number of entries created.

New targets in existing entries – number of created targets for existing entries. New targets are created when there is a difference between targets or notes for one source which is similar in importing dictionary and in the existing one.

Skipped – number of entries skipped.

New authors – number of authors in importing dictionary which differ from the current author and have not been registered in the AnyLexic database earlier.

Modified authors – number of author names which were modified.
