Run Update Script |
Top Previous Next |
In some cases, when you update your Projetex 2006 2006 Server Administrator or Projetex 2006 2006 Workstation, database should be updated as well, to support new features or enhancements, introduced in executable files. In this case, Workstation will inform you that it needs updated database, or server will prompt you that when you try to modify corporate settings. This happens only after you intentionally updated Workstation or Server software. Fresh update scripts are always installed together with Projetex 2006 2006 Server Administrator software update into C:\Projetex 2006 Server\DBUpdates\ folder. You can update the database clicking Run Update Script button from the Database page of the Server Administrator and selecting proper script. If you have not updated your software for a while, more than one update can be required to fill the gap between installed database version and required database version.
You can view the currently installed database version on the Database page of the Projetex 2006 2006 Server Administrator software:
Example: Installed database version is 2006.53.0 and software update requires 2006.55.0 database version. In this case you should consecutively run two updates (first dbx53to54.ptu and then dbx54to55.ptu). Update files are not necessarily updating from the one number to the next (e.g. 53to54; it can be 53 to 57 etc.; you can see such .ptu files on the screenshot above).
Note: Projetex 2006 Server Administrator does mandatory backup before each database update operation, for maximum security of data in case anything goes wrong during the update. Note: You can run Update Script command in offline mode only.
