Business Folder

Projetex 2006 provides advanced tools for consistent, logical and easy-to-use organization of your business information.

Business folder is a root folder for your business storage. By default it is created in the root of disk C. You can change its location on the Folders page of the Corporate Settings window. Having changed Business folder location you should move the content from the old Business folder manually.

The main purpose of Business folder is to serve as a single storage location for client folders, project folders, and expert folders (they are described below).

_bm3 Note: If you use Projetex 2006 over LAN you should share Business folder. More Details...

Client Folders

Primary purpose of every client folder is to serve as storage location for all information of a particular client. It can be created from the Main and Files page of the Client window. It is created automatically when any client-related document is saved (in this case Prices, Quotes, Invoices, or Payments subfolder, depending on the type of the document being saved, appears as well).

Each client folder can contain custom subfolders which will be created automatically together with a client folder. These subfolders can be specified on the Folders page of the Server Administrator Corporate Settings.

Expert Folders (Corporate and Freelance)

As it was mentioned, corporate experts' folders are created in the Corporate folder (Business\Experts\Corporate), freelancers' folders - in the Freelance folder (Business\Experts\Freelance).

Primary purpose of every expert's folder is to serve as storage location for all information of a particular expert. It can be created from the Main and Files page of the Corporate Expert or Freelance Expert window. It is created automatically when any expert-related document is saved (in this case JAs or Corporate Jobs subfolder for the corporate expert and Quotes, Prices, POs, or Payments subfolder for the freelance expert, depending on the type of the document being saved, appears as well)

_bm3 Note: When the PO/JA is saved using .rtf template, it is stored in a separate folder (it's name coincides with the PO/JA Code) and the link to this file is saved in the POs/JAs subfolder of the expert's folder.

Each expert's folder can contain custom subfolders which will be created automatically together with an expert folder. These subfolders can be specified on the Folders page of the Server Administrator Corporate Settings.

_bm3 Note: If you use Projetex over LAN you should share experts' folders. More Details...

Project Folders

Primary purpose of every project's folder is to serve as a storage location for all information of a particular Project. It can be created from the Main and Files page of the Client window. It is created automatically when any project-related document is saved. Project's folder always contains at least three subfolders: Incoming (where you can store the files sent you by the Client), Work (where you can store files while working on them) and Outgoing (where you can put files ready to be sent to the Client).

Each project's folder can contain custom subfolders which will be created automatically together with an expert folder. These subfolders can be specified on the Folders page of the Server Administrator Corporate Settings.

All Client Jobs are stored in projects' folders, not in clients' folders, because Project may contain single Client Job or multiple Client Jobs to be completed.

For consistency purposes name of the project's folder is the same as Project Code (the default value) and cannot be modified manually. Name of the project folder can include not only unique project code.
